This project involved the full preparation and installation of a new block paving driveway and patio area in Sawbridgeworth.
The works commenced with the excavation of the entire area to the required depth. All excavated materials were removed from site and responsibly disposed of. A membrane was then installed across the prepared sub-base to enhance stability and prevent weed growth.
A hardcore sub-base was supplied and laid, followed by thorough compaction using a heavy-duty vibrating plate to ensure a solid and durable foundation. Sharp sand was then applied and carefully screeded to achieve accurate levels, providing a smooth and even bed for the paving.
The surface was finished using brindle block paving, complemented by a contrasting charcoal border to define the edges and enhance the overall appearance. Once laid, kiln-dried jointing sand was brushed into all joints, and the entire area was compacted again with a vibrating plate to secure the blocks and ensure a long-lasting finish.
The completed driveway and patio area provide a durable, low-maintenance surface with an attractive, professional finish.
